We present the Case Study at IPADE

The Case Method, also known as the Case Study Method or Case Teaching Method, is a valuable pedagogical technique that originated in the late 19th century at Harvard Business School. Law professor Christopher Langdell was one of the first to apply this approach to legal teaching, using real cases to teach his students.

Since then, the Case Method has expanded to other educational fields and has become a widely adopted learning tool in universities and business schools around the world. The method is based on the use of case studies that represent real or hypothetical situations in the business, legal or decision-making world.

In the Case Method process, students study the case study individually and then meet in groups or in the classroom to discuss it in depth. During the discussion, debate and active participation of students are encouraged, allowing them to analyze key issues and propose reasoned solutions. Through this interactive approach, students are able to apply theories and concepts learned in class to practical situations, facilitating effective knowledge transfer.

The Case Method is highly effective in developing critical thinking, analysis, decision-making and teamwork skills. Furthermore, it does not seek a single correct answer, but rather values ​​the analysis process and the logical argumentation behind the decisions made.
